The ECD addresses a wide range of applications that require the routing of IP-based multimedia content to LAN clients and the decoding and display of MPEG-1, 2, and 4 to a video monitor. The ECD's ability to handle
MPEG-4 video compression enables high-quality content delivery at much lower bit rates, lowering the required bandwidth and opening new markets.
